I read the information letter in the Nov. 1 decision to part of 2012. Most letters editor election REFL ected writers actively advocate a position or a candidate. A special letter and did not do so.

I have lived 11 years in Alameda. Our favorite residents, most people moved here from other places, like, I can not say enough positive aspects of our city. Alameda has a high quality of life, and in the prescribed time, I live here, it's just getting better.

I know, we have a number of challenges, many of which are connected to our country and the country faced a wider problem. We must decide how to resolve issues related to the economic downturn, our country as a whole faces and reduce the funding and resources as a society is how it affects the service of our city and our school. We can reasonably our solutions.

I write this letter, because I have noticed a tendency to cause an unacceptable level of anger and personal attacks of the letters and the Alameda Sun published.

I am not against freedom of expression, I understand that some people feel that they need to vent their dissatisfaction in Alameda, every thing, they do not support. But there is a limit, I think that the anonymous letter printed in the Sun (only Spencer has my vote ", November 1), the limit has been crossed.

This letter was composed by the seven paragraphs, only one of which expressed support for the candidate, the title of the sun implied. The rest of the letter Alameda High School principal is an unsubstantiated personal attacks.

My question the right of the Alameda Sun Print this anonymous personal attacks, I questioned two reasons. Affected by the attack is a staff, our school district. She is a dedicated professional doing her job.

If the sun or any other people who want to question the performance of the work, of course they can do so, but the public, legal and proper forum. Unless some public emergencies or transgression of the law, it is absolutely clear is that the pages of the local newspaper is not the right forum. The law as a public figure, who is no more than the public criticism of some people in our society, those definitions. The attack in this letter is not a government official or elected politicians, but simply to do their work. The attack against her is very subjective and questionable legitimacy.

The second reason to publish this letter is inappropriate to the facts, which is published anonymously. Not named their own preparation and publication of the paragraph 6 attack a specific individual, this is unacceptable.

Instead, they hide in an anonymous, unsubstantiated personal attacks.

In my opinion, this has become a common business practice sun. Promote their brands in Alameda, the sun seems to stir up a storm in a teapot.

But I think their lack of serious news to push them towards irrelevant.
